The samples to be tested are converted to
zinc ions in different forms and valence states after high temperature and
pressure reaction in the presence of oxidizing agents. Under weakly alkaline
conditions, the zinc ion reacts with the color developing agent to form a
stable complex. The complex has a maximum absorption at a specific wavelength,
and the total zinc content in the sample to be measured is calculated by
photoelectric colorimetry.
